MkII Soldiers

A beam system that can be bolted end-to-end with exceptional strength and versatility to support wall and slab formwork.

MkII Soldiers are renowned for versatility and exceptional load-bearing capacity, providing the basis for a formwork and support system. The chief components for MkII Soldiers are steel beams in various sizes of up to 3.60 m, with a wide range of connectors and accessories available. All components are manufactured to the highest quality standards and galvanised for extended durability.

MkII Soldiers are used extensivly in façade retention applications for connecting the frame to the façade. Heavy leg loads of up to 500 kN can be supported by the multiway connector by doubling up the vertical MkII Soldiers. A special wedge jack component is available if the structure has to be struck under load. These jacks have a limited height adjustment range of 100 mm.

It is possible to make up three-dimensional structural frames. Façade-retaining shores or heavy-duty dead shores are used for the restoration of old historic listed buildings. For this purpose a multiway connector and special braces have been developed. The multiway connector is a special node point in the frame structure, on to which a maximum of 8 MkII Soldiers can be connected.

The MkII Soldiers, when used as a compression member, have different loading characteristics about its two main axes of inertia due to its asymmetric shape.
